Platinum Day Of Love: Everyday till eternity!

26th of April 2012
This is the day I met you. I keep thinking about the wonderful months we have spent together. But I still cannot find one more beautiful than this one.

I was at my friend’s place, for her mehendi ceremony. I was looking around for you since morning. I was curious to see the man who everyone was talking about with so much zeal. But more importantly, I wanted to once meet the guy who made me blush without even talking to me directly. Unknowingly  - the guy who I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with- Now I understand the restlessness. It was just three days ago that we had had an encounter on a social networking site over a picture, debating. I distinctly remember every word of that conversation- without having to revisit it even once. I remember how I gallantly stalked your profile and saw a picture of you, blushed the moment it went on full screen and shut down the computer, wondering what dawned over me to stalk someone I don’t even know. That is not me. Then again, I changed completely ever since I met you - and that change had begun that very instant.
Just when my impatience was reaching its peak, you entered- more like brought life into the room- suddenly all the hustle and bustle of a wedding home was background music to me, and all that seemed to exist from that very instant was you. I noticed your voice- still crazy about it. Noticed how you had an eyebrow piercing - and noticed how I was developing an interest in you. I remember thinking each and every second of that day, ‘this is so not me’, and trying to let go. But it had to happen.
I remember being teased earlier that day- about being yours. Little did I know that I really was.
You struck up a conversation, flirted, yet made me feel so comfortable. Somehow everything happened at a perfect time- we flirted, worked together, even shared plates! You talked about wedding rings- made a joke about having our names engraved on each other’s platinum bands. It was a joke- yet it did not seem weird or funny. It felt so right, as it has always meant to be. That one day (and each day since) gave me the happiness of a thousand days together.
Something- not God, not me, not you- something in this universe knew we were supposed to be- and whatever IT was, it knew what was to come- even though we didn’t. The day you proposed, just a couple of days later- did not seem too soon. Hearing the words ‘I love you’ from you did not seem too soon, I believed you- because IT knew there is no denying what is to happen. You making a trip across the country to meet me in just ten days did not seem wrong- because IT knew. And when I saw you before my eyes, “I” knew that this is where I want to be, and need to be for the rest of my life.
IT knew before we did- but when we did, we made sure we made it work, without the constraints of a long distance relationship, fights, and the endless number of reasons the world could give us to not be together. It was hard- but today I feel it was all worth it.
On this day, the 26th of April, exchanging platinum bands with our names engraved on them, just like you had mentioned exactly a year ago - I feel that whatever bad times we have been through, and whatever bad times that are yet to come- I know we will do great at life and I know we will be in it together- and that is all that matters to me.
Forever yours.

A Letter From an Indian Cricket Fan

I was browsing through some videos in YouTube, and came across that old Pepsi commercial where SRK enters the Indian dressing room and refers to Dravid as Sourav. "Sourav, peele peele."
Laughed like that after a long time. Couldn't get tha

t thing out of my mind so decided to pen something down!

Read it till the end. Or don't read it at all.
_/\_

Rahul Sharad Dravid and Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Lakshman are two people I grew up watching alongwith Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar. This used to be the much famed quartet. Now with three of them gone, Sachin is the only one who of the revered four, standing amidst conspicuous inexperienced lads.

What made me write this is actually Dravid's remark on Pujara's recent innings when he said that "He looks like me while batting." And secondly, India's not so good state in the Motera Test. Yes, we've been a victim of poor umpiring, but it isn't the only reason for our debacle.

Pujara is at his lethal best, Kohli is the most sane thing going in Indian cricket and with the likes of Rahane and Rayudu the future definitely looks glorious. But don't we feel that void in the Indian middle order? The void that can never be filled!

Can we forget Dravid's 180 at Edens? Or Lakshman's last wicket stand with Ojha which made India win the Mohali test? We can't take those pictures of Ganguly twirling his T-shirt frantically at Lords, out of your minds. Can we?

Will anyone be able to emulate Dravid's tenacity, Ganguly's passion or Lakshman's serenity? No matter how many records the young brigade makes or breaks, they'll never amount up to the trio's irreplaceable contribution.
These gentlemen as always, came about quietly, played along contentedly, and left on a sombre note. Minus the furore.
From the cute cameos, to the monumental epics. From the rightly paced, to the saving grace, the three of you did it all.

With your departures, we've been left hopelessly depleted. We don't have a middle order to call our own.
Your retirements were inevitable, everyone's is. And The team will move on..it always does. But it'll never be the same. Again.
We will sorely miss you. We'll miss you for that effortless ease, for those silent assaults on bowlers, for that calmness, that reverence. You all have been a part of that Indian team which fueled my passion for cricket! ♥♥

With lots of respect and adoration,
Another stupid fan who will always look up to you.

Wish list: Part - I

Wish carefully, you may get what you want!!

Everybody whether rich or poor, boy or girl, Young or old has a wish or many. While surfing through Google the previous day, I just stumbled on some wish lists of fellow bloggers. To my surprise even a person’s personal list of things or activities he/she desires makes to the public platform, which is by far the most interesting thing to read. Some of the bloggers even suggested that everybody should have a wish list published on the Virtual world. Well, I embraced their suggestions more than happily and here I m sitting straight staring at my machine and typing furiously at an odd hour of the night (or should I say morning, because its 2.30 am). P.S: it took me 5 days to kick my laziness, I’ve been procrastinating the idea for so long
I have not been privileged with rich (in monetary terms) parents, though they are the richest when it comes to emotions and feelings, and thus while typing this wish list of mine I am also thinking of a plan to execute each one of them. I am Shantanu, A Blogger and Entrepreneur by profession and a healthy male by nature. Given below is a wish list of everything I desire to own and to do, maybe a wish or two will come true!! I’ve tried my best to write as elaborately as I can in just less than 900 words (I stuck to 900 because longer posts are boring sometimes). However, there is a part two to this wish list which I will be publishing soon!!

8 Things I want To Posses instantly: (if given the fundsJ)
1.   A stunning Two-seat, four wheeler Convertible Black Mercedes or Lamborghini. For those who think that this wish is grossly “over-wished” (if this word exists),
