Google Play store inundated with scam apps, says various Antivirus companies

When the world’s biggest play store gets hit by number of apps that are questionable, then there is hardly a place that you would go to play games. Well, this has happened, and in fact has happened in the most popular -Google play store. Google Play store is a store that is accessed by millions worldwide to play games and download applications. It was reported by some anti-virus companies that from past few days malicious apps were regularly being spotted on the store. What generally happens is that, Google deletes them from the store as soon as they are detected after uploading. Regardless of the fact, many continue to be floating on, for some time. These apps makers can be the same extortionists, who can be related to Ransomware, which hits computer systems.

According to sources, these apps, when accessed provide with links to specific adult sites. People, on hitting these clinks are directed towards another link, that requires to be fed with a password and email form be filled and sent along with it. The personal number when called on gets the message to pay a specific amount to the site, in favor of the registration just done. Thus you are duped of your money.
Proper care is taken when any application is launched into the Play, as told by a Google representative. The main thing is that, although checks are conducted by software that can identify malicious apps, still, those apps get past it. The reason being, the malicious software just promotes a link. On the basis of a link, the checking software cannot identify the malicious content. Only through human intervention, is the rightful screening possible. These ways have been started to be implemented, and further floating can be seen to reduce.

On the other hand, another app store giant, Apple inc. has always screened whatever applications are submitted to them, before they go on live on their store. That is the reason behind, almost no malware floating on the store. Google too is said to adopt the methods to be speck free.
It has been reported by the Anti-virus companies, that the floating of malwares has been noticed on a more frequent basis from this month. Almost a hundred were spotted, out of which seventy were removed, and 30 are still floating.
